Om Tat Sat – Sai Bhajan
Our
group, has
chosen to sing & play via western
notations, one of the most popular Interfaith prayers, composed by
Vinoba Bhave - also known as the "Teacher Of India" and the spiritual
successor to mahatma Gandhi.
Vinoba's religious outlook was very broad and it synthesized the truths of many religions. This can be seen in one of his hymns "Om Tat" which contains symbols of many religions. He was also a scholar of many languages.
This
prayer
preaches the truth that there is one god though we may refer to him by
many names. Please refer to the "Detailed Meaning" link which lists out
the various deitites named in this song along with the religion
associated with it.
Our teacher and composer Mrs
Durga Krishnan
has composed the background music and arranged the orchestra.
There are a lot of new additons to
the group, mainly children. Click on
the
link below to hear our unique rendering of ths bhajan.
